Top Ten Tuesday (8)

This Meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which are officially fond of lists. Every Tuesday they post a new Top Ten List on something and want other people to join in. They also do have a list of all past Top Ten Tuesdays and the ones which are coming up soon.

This week's topic is: Top Ten Book Endings That Left Me With My Mouth Hanging Open

1. Catching Fire/Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins
I was so glad that I waited to red this series until all three book were out, otherwise I'm not sure how I would have dealt with the waiting. The ending of Catching Fire was so shocking and I was glad to read on in Mockingjay, which itself has an awfully sad, depressive, but at same time hopeful ending. And I seem to be part of a minority but I do like the epilogue, it's fitting. I just fish it would be longer.

2. My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult
WTF! I was completely devastated, shocked, uber sad. And I was asking: Why? WHY???

3. A Beautiful Dark - Jocelyn Davies
This ending came as complete surprise to me. There were a few more twists than expected and now I have to wait for the next book, which isn't even announced yet :(

4. Abandon - Meg Cabot
Already in my review I was complaining about this ending. First I thought that I missed a page or even more than one. There was definitely something missing.

5. Forbidden - Tabitha Suzuma
I knew there couldn't be any way this book could end happily but as usual: Hope springs eternal. But I still didn't see this ending coming. Well done and devastating.

6. The Rose Garden - Susanna Kearsley
I have read almost all of Susanna Kearsley's books and she still manages to surprise me. Once again I wasn't expecting what was happening in the end.

7. The Bronze Horseman - Paullina Simons
I was a puddle of tears after finishing this book. One of the most emotional beautiful romances ever. And I read this book when it wasn't part of a trilogy yet. I was so glad when years later I stumbled over book number 2.

8. City of Fallen Angels - Cassandra Clare
Ok, we all know that Cassandra Clare is the Queen of Chliffhangers, she already proved herself in the first 3 Mortal Instruments books. But she really pulled it of here, I couldn't believe it. What was happening! And at least 1 year to wait for the next book. NO!!!

9. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - J.K. Rowling
I'm sure this book will show up one others peoples lists as well. As descreet as J.K. Rowling was promoting her book, I knew someone would die or may be more than one. But I still wasn't prepared for this ending. I was so shocked and sad and .... the ending was amazing, especially in contrast to the rest of the book.

10. Demonglass - Rachel Hawkins
That was one hell of a cliffhanger! I just wanted some facts and nope, wasn't happening. This is already a long wait and there are still some months to go...
