Follow Friday and Book Blogger Hop 19/08/11

Follow my Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.

This week's question:
If you could write yourself a part in a book, what book would it be and what role would you play in that book?
Interesting question, for sure. I may be a bit boring  but I always wanted to go to Hogwarts.  Maybe Harry, Ron and Hermione have another best friend?
On the other hand I wouldn't mind showing up in the Lord of the Rings. There aren't enough female main characters anyway. Who could I be? Aragorn's long lost tough sister, which fights together with him for Gondor?

Book Blogger Hop
So that's one. The other Friday meme I'm participation in is, Book Blogger Hop, which is hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy for Books.

This weeks question is:
“What’s the LONGEST book you’ve ever read?”

I don't even know where to start. I have read so many thick books. At some time I would only read books which consist of at least 350-400 pages. So, depending if Lord of the Rings is accepted as one book this would be the longest. I actually own a copy which contains all three books (1216 pages). Otherwise, I guess The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley ist the longest I ever read (876 pages). ps: I completely forget Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell (1024 pages). I read this one at least 15 years ago, but it is quite massive.

I considered the Harry Potter world too when I answered! And the LOTR point is a good one! There really aren't many females! Poor Legolas! I could help him!

I'm following you back, thanks for stopping by! :]

I think Harry Potter is by far from a boring choice. Like I told someone else today, I'd probably be stuck in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.
As long as I'm not Slytherin, I'd be okay.

Thanks for the follow! I'm following you as well ;) Have a great weekend!

Most people would guess I’d write myself in the role of a hero in a fictional adventure of some kind. But that would be only partially correct. As is my norm, I throw a curve ball in my answer that makes perfect sense one you follow my logic. Follow me back to my blog at and follow along the logic with me!

I have no idea what the longest book I have ever read but I would love to go to Hogwarts, maybe in the pre-Voldy days.

I definitely want to be Harry, Ron and Hermione's sidekick, no matter how boring or unoriginal that answer is lol. I guess it says a lot for HP - and JK Rowling - that so many people love the books and want to be a part of them. I have a 3-in-1 LoTR book too, but haven't read it yet. And I forgot about Mists of Avalon! Love those books, but forgot how long they were. Great choices. Happy Friday - new follower here!

I also think Gone With the Wind is a really long one, when I tried to find book lengths on line they were all listing word counts, but I thought page numbers first. Great post. Old follower.

Hm Lord of the rings. You could rock being Aragorn's sister. He totally needs a kick ass chic along side him (well, besides the cool ass fae chic that Liv Tyler plays) Sorry name escapes me #sleepdeprived

Great choice. I almost picked a role Lord of the Rings as one of the Rohirrim for my choice, but I've got a lot of Tolkien on my blog and wanted to go with a little variety.
